Salmon Feed the World
Salmon are celebrated in the Pacific Northwest as keystone species—our entire ecosystem depends on salmon. Salmon are born in freshwater streams and later migrate to the ocean where they spend most of their lives. When adult salmon return from the ocean to their home streams, many of them don’t make it all the way there— they become food for humans, bears and other large predators on the way. Salmon also feed the forest itself.
